When I went to high school, Appleton West was one of the premier schools in this area and still is today. If there has ever been negative comments made, it is by people who don't have a tradition with the school or understand that while East and North may be newer, it does not make them better. All of our high schools offer competitive and challenging educational programming. Students can be reassured that they are provided with a variety of course offerings regardless of the school they attend. A great number of students from West have excelled and attended major universities including Madison, Harvard, Dartmouth, Georgetown and other higher levels of education. Education is what you put into it. West is still Best in my mind!
I went to school there from 1968 to 1970. Since my time there, they have added a swimming pool area, a new gymnasium, a new auditorium and a larger athletic grounds. Appleton High School-West is one of 3 high schools in my home town, the other two being East and ,the newest - North.
Awesome school and teachers who are easy to approach with questions.Really awesome history with the building. The parking lot for students is a good 5 minute walk away, but at least it's free for students to use unlike all the other schools in the area which do have onsite lots, but a student at those schools can pay a good $100 per year to utilize said lot.
I think it is great that a student can attend classes whenever they feel like it, wait till the last month to hand in their homework and still graduate with their class. Thank you for showing this student responsibility in life. They should make a great president someday.
