We had to pick through piles of wood to find boards without cracks. We used the project planner computer system in the store to design our deck. We needed to return multiple pieces, buy more, and ended up making many trips back to the store. It was a learning experience. Still waiting on our long overdue rebates. We spent well over $5,000 on materials. Saved huge money doing it ourselves but don't think we'll rely on project planner system for help again.
I got to the paint counter. No one there. But it listed at least 5 people who working. But not one in the department. Waited at least 15minuntes. There should be a bell.
The man that helped me knew I needed to stay on a budget and helped me find an area rug that was affordable and good quality.
Everyone I worked with was wonderful! The individual who helped find my product and then wheeled it upped too the checkout, the friendly gentleman at the checkout and then the other individual who helped me out to the car. Great experience!!
I've never minded Menards. This visit was bad. I came in for one item. A culvert. First person I saw I was about 20' from where they were located. He was helping another customer. I waited and when he had a chance to at least ask what I needed, he just walked away. Found a second person. There were two now. I asked one of them where the culverts were. He said on the other end of the store in building supplies. Walked over to building supplies. He said they are way down by electrical area. I said I just came from there and they said they were here. He try to excuse this, and so I headed back to where I was. Asked a fourth person and she sent me on another long walk and nothing. Found a fifth person who was getting a paint can off the shelf for a customer. I asked where the culverts were and he said go all the way to electrical and when you get there go outside and they will be on your right. There they were about 20' from where I originally started. The only one that seemed to even care was the guy in the paint department. the rest of the workers acted more like, why am I bothering them. I thought I was a customer and that is what the workers are there to do is to help the customers. I worked many years part time in hardware sales and in bicycle sales. I was trained that the customer is top priority. Customer doesn't buy or gives a bad word about the place and you don't stay in business. I guess customers need to start bringing in smily faces to hand out to the workers just for almost helping. Times sure have changed. Not for the better.
